Term 3 Learning Goals

Hi 4MM,
This term we will be writing our learning goals onto our class blog. Please consider these carefully as we will be revisiting them later on this semester. I think that at least three learning goals that you have chosen to work towards, should be written into our class blog. These could be from the main areas of learning such as Maths, English or  the Inquiry topic  ‘The earths environment sustains all life”. This is topic is about Sustainability and the Environment.

Good luck and make sure you check the ‘quality comments’ section of our class blog.

Our class play- “The Queen of Hearts”.

Recently 4MM have been practising our class play called “The Queen of Hearts”. I think that they have done an excellent job at both acting as well as learning their play parts so beautifully. In fact the children have been so enthusiastic that I have had to choose two groups of characters. All groups performed to a live audience at assembly last Monday the 2nd of December and as some parents came (those that made up costumes for their children) to see our performence in the stadium, I have decided to upload the two videos, of the two groups, onto our class blog.

We had a lot of fun acting, rehearsing and performing our play and I hope you can share in this enjoyment with them.

P.S Perhaps you could send us your comments on our play as the children will enjoy reading them.

Term 4 Learning Goals

Hello Year 4MM,
This is our last term in Year 4 and we have grown so much already. Click on comments to read what our goals are for the rest of this year. Make sure to include at least 3 goals you would like to achieve by the end of the term. Your goals need to be realistic.
On the next paragraph, write how you intend on achieving your goals.
ie.
Goal 1: Learn my 9 timestables.
I will revise them 10 minutes a night.
Don’t forget to publish quality comments!

Practise your tables. Be automatic.

Hi 4MM,

I have been on the internet and found this great table game.  It is great for revising your tables. Remember to choose a table that you need to really practise, perhaps x7 and x8, as these are the ones we have been learning this term and have a go at being timed. This would enable you to see whether you are AUTOMATIC at these.

MULTIPLICATION GAME

How did you go?

  • Which tables did you find easiest?
  • Which tables were you ‘timed out’?
  • What strategies did you use to make learning the tables easier?
  • Did you find this practise useful?

The Rabbits by John Marsden/Shaun Tan

Recently we have been reading “The Rabbits” as well as looking at the pictures that are as powerful as the text itself. This book aims to promote cultural awareness and a sense of caring for the natural world. The story tells of the effects of man on his environment and how changes have taken place over time, in Australia.

I invite you to comment on this book and perhaps answer some of the questions when you write your blog.

What were you thinking about when the story was being read?

Who is telling the story and why are they doing so?

‘… and stole our children.’ What does this mean?

Welcome

Hi 4MM!

Welcome to our learning blog! On this website we will be commenting on Integrated Studies, our learning goals, Maths, English and many other things! Together we will learn to write quality comments, post quality comments and read each other’s great ideas. We will learn about CyberSafety and being smart when using the internet. Happy blogging!
